First Case Study: Custom Covers, Inc.

In the thirteen years that Custom Covers has been in business, they have won several awards and been recognized by the Marine Fabricators Association and Industrial Fabricators Association International as one of the leading innovators in the marine fabric industry. Custom Covers wanted to save money on their credit card processing, but good customer support was just as important.

 

Second Case Study: Ruff Patch Rescue

Ruff Patch Rescue is a registered 501c3, founded in 2008 with the mission of saving abused and neglected animals and finding them loving homes. From adoption events to awareness of population control, Ruff Patch Rescue is out in the community trying to make a difference. Ruff Patch Rescue was accepting donations via PayPal before switching their processing to InterchangePlus Solution‘s program for Non-Profits.

 

1st Case Study

The Business –

Custom Covers was founded in January 1998 by Justin Jones and incorporated in July 1999 in the state of Utah. Justin has been working in the industrial sewing business for the last 15 years under the guidance of his father in their family upholstery shop.

The Challenge –

Because Custom Covers was participating in their Trade Association’s merchant account program, they were reluctant to entertain the idea of switching to IPS, feeling they were already getting the best deal possible.

“We had been hoping to save on our credit card processing fees but we thought we already had a great deal in place” explained Justin Jones, owner of Custom Covers.

The Solution –

InterchangePlus Solutions recommended to Custom Covers a program using “interchange plus” pricing to replace the three tier billing they were then processing under. Because they did business with many corporations, Custom Covers was receiving a lot of commercial cards that were being downgraded to Non Qualified rates.

“An analysis of our previous three months’ credit card statements made the switch appealing, however we were very skeptical that great service would go along with great pricing. During the first six months of processing we had occasion to call IPS customer support twice; once about our terminal, and once to order more supplies. Both times the level of service exceeded our expectations.”

The Results –

2nd Case Study

The Business –

Ruff Patch Rescue has been accepting donations via PayPal since 2008. With a network of foster families, Ruff Patch Rescue boards animals that are rescued from animal shelters prior to being euthanized.

The Challenge –

Ruff Patch Rescue thought that because there are no monthly fees for PayPal, it made it worth paying the very high discount rates PayPal charged for the donations they accepted. In addition, Ruff Patch Rescue was concerned that with limited resources it would cost too much to implement Authorize.Net with a shopping cart that worked for donations on their Website.

The Solution –

Working with InterchangePlus Solutions, Ruff Patch Rescue recognized that most of the people donating online and at the weekend fund-raisers were using Debit Cards.

InterchangePlus Solutions analyzed our monthly donations and showed us how their program offered us huge savings on debit cards compared to PayPal.
